I can't believe the quagmire that Iraq has turned into. Did anyone not foresee this exact thing happening?

Country after country of the 'coalition' are abandoning Bush's ill-conceived invasion. Soon who will be left? The US, Britain, and Australia? Of course, Australia has an election this year and if we can remove W's puppy dog, John Howard, from power there is no guarantee that those troops would remain either.

I live in Seattle, and just yesterday a soldier home on furlough from Iraq killed his wife. Killed his wife. His father is blaming George W, and the Iraq war, for the stress on his son to cause him to do such a thing. These reports are getting more and more frequent.

Who's to say it would have been any different had the UN not given censure to the machinations of the Bush Administration? And I don't know if I can be entirely sure it's not the same sort of situation that we were all in with the former Yugoslavia. I do know this, though. Bush has gotten the US into a situation with Iraq where we cannot leave and have a duty to remain and make sure we put the pieces of the country back together again. The world community needs to make this right to the Iraqi people.

We can only do this with the UN's help. We should have had it from day one. It's still not too late.

The question is, will our swashbuckling president with a shiny sheriff's badge be able to eat some humble pie and ask for help? Will he be able to concede that he was wrong to invade Iraq in the first place, even if Saddam Hussein was an evil man who needed to be deposed?

I just hope Americans in general are not blind to the inconsistencies, deceit and injustices of the current Bush administration and get rid of them in November.

There is no reason to concede he was wrong for going into Iraq. He made the right decision.

Everytime I hear somebody talk about the U.N. I just have to laugh. The U.N. is caught in possibly one of the biggest scandals and scams in the world. The U.S. went to the U.N. to resolve this problem, like so many other times, they failed. If it was up to the U.N, the french, and the germans, Saddam would still be in power today. And we are rapidly finding out the reasons for their objection to the war. It was about their kickbacks from Saddam.

You can talk about the so-called "deceit" and "injustices", both which are false, but the fact is Bush still has support for Iraq. They also don't have much confidence in Kerry and his "international" community speeches. Terrorism is the most dangerous thing in the world now, and we need someone who is strong and will stand up and fight, not someone who will appease.

Would you care to name these scandals to an uninformed citizen such as myself? If you could name them all that it would be perfect, but just one or two will do.

...See, I live under a vile communist regime that censor our news reports. So I'm desperate for news from the free world. Could you help me out? Send a bible too, if you can spare one...

It similarly makes me laugh when people talk about how the UN is irrelevant. It's only irrelevant to those people, normally within the USA, who want it to be irrelevant. Outside of the USA, the UN is extremely relevant and respected. You have to wonder why that is...

I'd also be interested to read what you consider a scam or a scandal.
